Overview
The response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, which humanity continues to experience historically, has in many ways triggered the examination and reflection on the state of ‘Digital Transformation’ (DX) of society and the initiation of new social systems. The new DX is based on the premise of stable Internet through 5G and optical fiber, applications that allow free use of video and voice, AI-based services made possible by analyzing various types of digital data, and replacing analog-era systems with digital ones. The development of new approaches based on digital technology for people and society, rather than replacing analog systems with digital ones, is a distinctive characteristic of this new era.
In the medical field as well, based on the premise of the digitalization of electronic medical records and other systems that have been promoted up to now, new collaborative efforts are being promoted in various relationships; between hospitals and patients, medicine and health, and individuals and their lives. In this seminar, the Keio University Cyber Civilization Research Center will provide an overview of efforts in these fields through lectures by experts from diverse perspectives and a panel discussion by experts to look ahead to the future of DX in the medical and health areas.
