A new article titled “An embarrassment of changes: International Relations and the COVID-19 pandemic,” co-authored by CCRC Fellow, Christopher Hobson, has just been published in the Australian Journal of International Affairs. The article considers how the discipline of International Relations has sought to understand the pandemic, and points to the challenges of quickly comprehending such a complex set of experiences. Building on Adam Tooze’s recent work, the authors suggest COVID-19 form part of a contemporary polycrisis, an idea Hobson develops further in a note published here.
