CCRC Haneda Campus Inauguration Ceremony – A new research and education hub for the Asia-Pacific region

The Keio University KGRI Cyber Civilization Research Center (CCRC) has officially opened its CCRC Project Room (Haneda Campus) at Haneda Innovation City, located in Ota City, Tokyo, adjacent to Haneda Airport. To mark this occasion, an inauguration ceremony was held on March 8, 2025.

During the ceremony, words of encouragement were delivered by Mr. Masaaki Taira, Member of the House of Representatives and Minister for Digital Transformation, H.E. Mr. Heri Akhmadi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Japan, and Mr. Akimasa Suzuki, Mayor of Ota City. Their remarks emphasized the future development of research and educational collaboration at the Haneda Campus.

The event also welcomed Masayuki Amagai, Vice President of Keio University, and Professor Jun Murai, Co-Director of CCRC, who joined distinguished guests in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the opening of this new hub.

One of CCRC’s key missions is to contribute to building a resilient society in Asia-Pacific. As part of this effort, CCRC serves as the headquarters of the SOI Asia Project, a collaborative initiative involving 29 universities and organizations across 13 economies in the region.

The newly established Haneda Campus is not only a center for CCRC’s activities but also a strategic hub for strengthening collaboration between researchers in Japan and the Asia-Pacific region. This expansion is expected to play a significant role in advancing research and education across the region, further reinforcing CCRC’s commitment toward building a resilient society.

In addition, Masayuki Amagai, Vice President of Keio University and Jun Murai, Co-Director of CCRC also participated in the event, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held.

CCRC has as one of its missions to build a resilient society in the Asia-Pacific region, and is promoting research and education in Asia by serving as the headquarters of SOI Asia project, which is being carried out in collaboration with 20 universities and research organizations in 13 Asian countries. CCRC is not only a center for CCRC activities, but is also positioned as a center for collaboration between researchers in Japan and the Asia-Pacific region, which is of great significance in order to promote research and education in the Asia-Pacific region more strongly in the future.
