Japan-U.S. Cyber Collaboration: 2021 and Beyond?

We would like to warmly invite you to attend an event on Japan-U.S. Cyber Collaboration at Columbia SIPA’s Niejelow Rodin Global Digital Futures Policy Forum and hosted by the Keio CCRC-Columbia SIPA Cyber Dialogue.

Date & Time

  • April 19, 7:00 – 9:00pm EDT
  • April 20 8:00 – 10:00am JST

The event will take place as the U.S. transitions to a new Biden Administration and Japan having entered 2021 under the recently elected Suga Administration. Ample opportunity exists for increased collaboration between the two nations on cybersecurity and cyber policy issues. Yet cooperation between Japan and the U.S. will have to consider shared adversaries’ goals in cyberspace as well as broader East Asia security issues. A group of panelists will their views on opportunities and challenges for Japan-U.S. cyber collaboration under the countries’ new administrations and the significance of collaboration going forward.

We expect the panelist to present their view for 8-10 minutes and then the members of the Dialogue will engage in conversation.
